Joseph Beuys
Joseph Beuys (1921–1986) was a sculptor and a performance artist. From 1961 to 1972, he was a professor at the Art Academy in Düsseldorf. Beuys, one of the most significant and influential artists of the 20th century, saw himself as the architect of a revolutionary type of poetry. His language arose from “poor” objects, from a strict reduction to the essential.
