John Deakin
John Deakin was born in 1912 in Bebington, Cheshire. He worked for British Vogue from 1947-1948 and 1951-1954, and also for other magazines such as Picture Post, Harper's Bazaar, and Tatler. The painter Francis Bacon was an acquaintance, and both men produced portraits of the other. Deakin died in 1972 in Brighton.
