Jerry Berndt

Jerry Berndt was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, in 1943. As a photojournalist, he has worked in Haiti, El Salvador, Guatemala, Rwanda and Armenia and his work has been published in The New York Times, Newsweek and Paris Match. Berndt is an instructor at the Art Institute in Boston and at the University of Massachusetts. He received an award from the National Endowment for the Arts and grants from the University of California. Berndt’s photographs are represented in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston and the Bibliothèque National in Paris. He lives in Paris.
