When Slavica Perkovic began photographing the six-year-old Nika, she knew a long-term collaboration had begun. Perkovic has previously made two small artist’s books of Nika as a child, and the present book explores Nika’s life from the age of six to eighteen. Nika Forever is a visual lecture of a child coming of age, intimate yet not voyeuristic, and coloured by Perkovic’s own reminiscences of childhood.
