The Published Image [La imagen editada] - exhibition of Steidl titles
An exhibition of twenty Steidl titles are on display at MUSAC, León Spain.
"Photographic images and the printing press are major allies in today’s world. By virtue of publishing houses’ highly skilful work, viewers can gain easier and more viable access to artwork. Through the exhibition La imagen editada, MUSAC intends to strengthen that bond between photography and the viewer that can only exist thanks to the work of the publisher.
The project takes onboard both the importance of books as documents for the transmission of a given reality, and the impact caused by images taken by contemporary artists over the past five years. The project will be shown on a carefully designed display structured around 20 tables acting as lecterns with two facing chairs, where viewers can sit at ease and study each of the publications."
