Mary Ellen Carroll Book Signing

We are pleased to announce that Mary Ellen Carroll will be signing copies of her new book, Mary Ellen Carroll on Friday 21 May, 2010 at 192 Books, New York. The evening will also include an exhibition and performance.

EXHIBITION and PERFORMANCE
192 BOOKS and 3RD STREAMING will exhibit a new work that is referenced in the conversation between Hamza Walker and Mary Ellen Carroll, titled MY DEATH IS PENDING. This work is a part of a Rube Goldberg conceptual stream of consciousness process that Carroll began in 1986 and will finish in 2012. The work is a two part neon piece that will be split between the two venues. It inverts an infamous early attempt of product placement that references an incident that nearly broke up the band. THE DOORS, unbeknownst to Jim Morrison, were in negotiation to license LIGHT MY FIRE to Buick for a television commercial. It was a failed attempt. On Friday, May 21st there will also be a performance at 192 BOOKS at 7pm and another performance will take place at 3RD STREAMING at 10 pm.
