Manuel Alvarez Bravo

Manuel Alvarez Bravo, born in Mexico City in 1902, was encouraged to pursue his interest in photography by Edward Weston, whom he was introduced to by Tina Modotti. His photographs went on to be exhibited alongside such renowned artists as Imogen Cunningham, Dorothea Lange and Henri Cartier-Bresson. He died, aged 100 years, in 2002.
